As a reminder, if you witness an employee demonstrating unsafe behavior, please stop and redirect them

or offer assistance, as we are dependent on everyone to keep Safety at the forefront. Below are examples of unsafe behavior:

  • Failure to use PPE: Not wearing safety glasses, gloves, face shields, respirators, or other necessary protective gear. 
  • Using improper tools: Using a tool that is not properly maintained or how it was intended.
  • Operating equipment without authorization: Using machinery without the proper training or permission. 
  • Horseplay: Engaging in pranks or play that could lead to injuries, like running around or throwing objects. 
  • Poor housekeeping: Allowing clutter, spills, or debris to accumulate, which can create tripping/slipping hazards or other dangers. 
  • Improper lifting techniques: Lifting heavy or awkward objects without assistance or a material cart.
  • Improper storage of materials: Stacking materials too high or storing them in a way that they are unstable. 
  • Reckless driving: Driving too fast in the parking lots or not stopping at intersections.
  • Improper use/disposal of razor blades: Using razor blades without a handle and leaving them unprotected in the work area.
